Finally it’s here! Fig Media has established a new variety of producing media, -Filmmaking. For the past year, filmmaker Joseph Martinez has been working the crew at Fig Media (Lauren Pollock, Billy Rood, Melissa Martens, Tim Musho, Megan Taylor, James and Michelle Gustin, and …oh everyone has played an incredible supportive role at Fig) to complete the first project at Fig Independent Films.
Our first collaborative project, “The Byrd’s Fear” is about a young boy who wants to build. He sees the space around him from a perspective that wants to fill his surroundings with structures and buildings of any sort. Unfortunately his mother, Judy Byrd, has intended for her son to carry on her own unfulfilled aspirations as a child-actor.
Travis’s natural talents conflict with that of Judy’s and after a promotion is offered to Travis as an actor, he faces his fear and confesses to his mother his opposition to acting. Travis’ Grandfather serves him as a supportive older icon, and the two extract Travis’ true talents by constructing a fort around a tree that has haunted Travis for the past two years.
Joseph Martinez wrote The Byrd’s Fear back in November. After being shot this past April, it is currently in post-production, a team headed by Lauren Pollock, with a deadline of mid Dec.
This new direction for Fig is finally a way for the team of artists to proclaim there own livelihood with challenges they will meet and conquer using the support system that is already maturing in practice everyday.
The goal of Fig Independent Films is to produce Multi-Million Dollar projects that are translated in every language and seen all over the universe while dominating the filmmaking industry by touching lives and teaching audiences the values of creativity, families, and life.
Those who intern or work at Fig are given an opportunity to show their personal involvement WITH A TEAM to produce films. Using a structure of defined roles and proper communication the films will continue to prosper as a means to gain relationships, skill, and of course money!
